A typical eBay or Amazon day looks like a steady-state drip of orders. A TikTok Shop day looks like nothing, nothing, nothing, then 400 orders in seven minutes because a creator's livestream went off. Your inventory software has to handle both regimes.
That means three things matter more for TikTok Shop than for any other channel: sync speed, stock reservation for livestreams, and an industrial-strength returns flow. Get those right and the rest is ordinary multi-channel inventory work.

Live-stream-day checklist
Before a scheduled livestream (either your own or a creator's), a well-configured platform lets you:
- Reserve N units of the featured SKU exclusively for TikTok Shop for a specific time window.
- Auto-release unsold reservation back into the main stock pool when the window closes.
- Pre-print dispatch paperwork templates so pickers can start the moment orders hit.
- Set the TikTok Shop dispatch SLA as a visible countdown on every order card.
- Override courier routing to a pre-blocked pickup slot with your main carrier if the volume warrants it.
Returns: the silent margin killer
TikTok Shop return rates run 15-20% for fashion and beauty, 8-12% for homeware, 5-8% for consumables. Compared with 3-5% on Amazon, this is a big chunk of your margin — and your inventory platform's returns flow either saves or destroys it.
The test: what happens when a returned item arrives damaged? A good platform lets you choose “restock as faulty, refund customer, mark for QA investigation” in one click. A bad platform forces you to manually adjust stock, open the Xero invoice, create a credit note, and change the order status — per return. At 1% return rate that's a nuisance. At 15% it's four hours a day.
Does TikTok Shop have its own courier labels?
As of Q2 2026, TikTok Shop does not offer UK sellers the same native seller-centre courier-label workflow as Temu. You ship TikTok Shop orders with enabled courier services such as Evri, Royal Mail, DPD or another configured carrier. This means the courier part of your TikTok Shop workflow is closer to eBay or your own website. The differentiator stays on the sync, reservation, and returns side.
What I'd pick today
For a UK seller with 500+ TikTok Shop orders/month and livestream events, MaxInvent or Linnworks.
