What we hear from b2b wholesalers
What wholesale operators keep hitting
Marketplace-first software doesn't speak wholesale. Wholesale-first software doesn't speak marketplaces. MaxInvent is built for both.
No tiered pricing by unit / layer / pallet
B2C platforms only model one price per SKU. Your actual price changes with order quantity — and the software can't represent that.
No per-customer catalogue
Different buyers get different products, different prices, different MOQs. Most software shows everyone the same catalogue.
No credit limits or payment terms
Wholesale is on net-30, net-60 or account credit. B2C platforms expect payment on checkout.
Buyers having to phone or email every order
You want buyers placing orders themselves from a portal — with live stock, their price, and order history visible.
Case and pallet quantities missing
B2C platforms model individual units. Wholesale needs "12 per case, 48 per layer, 120 per pallet" built into the product record.
The MaxInvent fix
How MaxInvent solves wholesale
Tiered pricing: unit, layer, pallet
Every SKU has three price tiers built in. Customers see their applicable price at checkout, and margin is calculated per tier.
Per-customer catalogues and price lists
Each wholesale customer sees a tailored catalogue with their contracted price. MOQs, case packs, and exclusions are enforced.
See B2B portalCredit limits and payment terms
Each customer has a credit limit, preferred terms (net-7, net-30, net-60), and an account balance that's deducted at order time.
Self-service B2B portal
Buyers log in to their own URL (or subdomain), browse their catalogue with live stock, place orders, re-order from history, and download invoices.
B2B portal buyer's guideFull case-pack + pallet modelling
Each SKU carries case size, layer size, pallet size, and weight at each tier. Dispatch rules can auto-pick the right packing format.
Marketplaces alongside wholesale
Run your wholesale business and your marketplace business from the same stock pool. No silos, no separate systems.

FAQ
Questions b2b wholesalers ask
- Can I use MaxInvent purely as a wholesale platform (no marketplaces)? +
- Yes. Many MaxInvent customers run wholesale-only and only turn marketplace channels on when they want to expand. Wholesale features aren't an add-on — they're core.
- How does tiered pricing work? +
- Each SKU has three tiers: unit, layer, pallet. Each tier has a cost price, a selling price and a margin percent. When a customer orders 12 units at "layer price", the layer price is applied automatically and margin is reported at the layer tier.
- Can wholesale customers place orders without phoning us? +
- Yes. Each customer gets a B2B portal login showing their own catalogue with their own prices, live stock, and their order history. They can place orders, re-order from history, and download invoices.
- How are credit limits enforced? +
- Each customer has a credit limit and a current balance. At order time, the system checks if the order + unpaid invoices would exceed the credit limit. If it would, the order is held for approval. Credit checks happen on every order in real-time.
- Do you handle pallets as well as parcels? +
- Yes. Tuffnells and Palletforce are integrated. Dispatch rules can route based on weight, case count or pallet count. Pallet paperwork (BOLs, proof of delivery) can be generated alongside the courier label.
- Will my wholesale business and my marketplace business compete for stock? +
- Only if you want them to. You can ring-fence stock per channel (e.g. reserve 500 units for B2B wholesale), or let marketplace and wholesale share a single pool with priority rules. The default is a single pool with priority for confirmed orders.
