Acceptable use policy
Last updated: 25 August 2026
This policy forms part of the customer terms of service. It applies to every user of the MaxInvent platform, and the customer is responsible for the conduct of its own users.
Version 1.0, in force from 25 August 2026.
1. Fair use of your allowance
Each plan includes a monthly order allowance. If you go over it, the published overage rate applies to the additional orders. We will not move you to a higher plan without your agreement, and we will not suspend or degrade the Service because you exceeded your allowance.
We are explicit about this because it is a commitment we make publicly on our pricing pages, and because a busy month should not be a crisis. If your volumes have grown to the point where a different plan would be cheaper, we will tell you.
Separately from order volume, the Service has technical limits — API rate limits, file sizes, concurrent jobs — which exist to keep it working for everyone. Deliberately circumventing them is covered by clause 3.
2. Use the Service lawfully
You must not use the Service:
- to breach any law or regulation, including consumer protection, product safety, export control, sanctions or tax law;
- to sell or distribute goods you are not lawfully entitled to sell, including counterfeit, stolen or restricted goods;
- to send marketing that breaches the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations or the UK GDPR, including using contact details collected for order fulfilment to send marketing without a lawful basis;
- to process personal data without a lawful basis, or in breach of a notice you gave to the people concerned;
- to submit special category or criminal offence data without our prior written agreement, as set out in the data processing agreement;
- to infringe anyone's intellectual property, or to upload content you have no right to use;
- in breach of the terms of a marketplace, courier, payment provider or other service you connect to it.
3. Do not attack or undermine the Service
You must not:
- attempt to access another customer's data, or any part of the Service you have not been given access to;
- attempt to defeat, probe or circumvent authentication, tenant isolation, rate limiting or any other security control, except under clause 5;
- introduce malware, or anything designed to disrupt or damage the Service or its data;
- place a load on the Service designed to degrade it, including deliberately circumventing a technical limit or running automated traffic that is not genuine use of the product;
- scrape or bulk-extract data other than through the export tools and APIs we provide;
- reverse engineer, decompile or copy the Service except as the law permits;
- resell or provide the Service to anyone outside your business, or use it to build a competing product;
- share a single user account between people, or share credentials outside your business.
4. Treat people decently
You must not use the Service, or your dealings with us, to harass, threaten or abuse our staff, another customer, or anyone else. Our team will help with almost anything. They are not required to absorb abuse to do it.
5. Security research
We welcome reports of genuine vulnerabilities. If you are testing in good faith, please email support@maxinvent.uk before you start, test only against your own tenant and your own data, stop as soon as you have demonstrated a problem, and do not access, modify or retain anyone else's data.
Report what you find and give us a reasonable period to fix it before disclosing it publicly. We will not pursue a researcher who follows this clause. We do not currently operate a paid bounty.
6. Your own users
You are responsible for who you give access to, what permissions you give them, and removing access when someone leaves. Where you use the driver location or delivery photograph features, you are responsible for telling the workers affected and for having a lawful basis for that monitoring.
7. If this policy is breached
Our first step will normally be to contact you, because most problems are a misconfiguration or one user's mistake rather than a deliberate act.
Where the concern is a security risk, unlawful use, abuse, or a risk to another customer, we may suspend access immediately under clause 13.4 of the customer terms, and may terminate under clause 13.5 if the concern is established. Suspension will be limited to what the concern requires and lifted once it is resolved.
We may also be required to act by a court, a regulator, or a marketplace or payment provider whose rules apply to us.
To repeat, because it is the question customers actually worry about: exceeding your order allowance is not a breach of this policy and is not a ground for suspension.
8. Changes
We may update this policy. Material changes are notified under clause 16 of the customer terms.
