Migration guide

Moving to MaxInvent from Linnworks

A modern, UK-hosted alternative with transparent per-order pricing, direct Temu courier labels, and native connectors for every major UK marketplace. Most teams are live within two weeks.

UK market first

MaxInvent is the only UK inventory platform that lets you buy Temu courier labels directly from the dispatch screen. No broker, no mark-up, tracking synced back to Temu automatically.

What we hear from Linnworks customers

Why sellers consider a change

We talk to sellers moving from Linnworks every week. The reasons cluster around five themes — all of them easy to verify on public review sites and Linnworks' own documentation.

Public, per-order pricing

MaxInvent publishes three public tiers (Starter £149, Growth £399, Scale from £999) with a single 10p/order overage. Pricing is on every page — no quote cycle, no renewal surprises. Linnworks' current pricing structure is available on their own pricing page; verify it there.

Direct Temu courier labels

Temu is one of the fastest-growing UK marketplaces. Based on publicly available product documentation at the time of writing, MaxInvent is the only UK inventory platform that lets you buy Temu courier labels directly from the dispatch screen. If you process Temu orders at volume, this alone often repays the subscription.

Fast onboarding, no implementation fee

Most MaxInvent customers are importing real orders within 7–14 days. No separate implementation fee is charged regardless of team size, marketplace count, or order volume.

Modern UI and built-in automation

MaxInvent is built on a modern React stack with keyboard-first dispatch, auto-split, auto-print and auto-enrich built in as standard — not as paid add-ons or custom scripts.

UK-first marketplace focus

Temu UK, TikTok Shop UK, Groupon UK, ClearanceFood and others ship in MaxInvent on the day they're available. We build UK connectors in-house, not via a third-party library.

The MaxInvent approach

What's different with MaxInvent

These are the differences we hear most often from teams who've moved across. All publicly verifiable from both vendors' own documentation.

Direct Temu courier labels

Print Temu's own courier labels from MaxInvent, with tracking pushed back to the Temu order automatically. No broker, no mark-up, no separate portal login.

Per-order pricing, not per-user

Add as many warehouse staff, dispatchers and managers as you need — we don't charge per seat. You pay for the orders you process, not the people who process them.

UK data residency by default

All customer data lives in AWS London. GDPR-first, with a tenant-isolated database model so your data is never co-mingled with another customer's.

Automation-first dispatch

Auto-split multi-warehouse orders, auto-print labels on dispatch, auto-enrich with customer history, auto-allocate stock to new orders — all built in, not add-on modules.

No long contracts

Monthly billing, cancel any time, or save 15% with annual. No 18-month auto-renewal traps, no cancellation penalties.

UK support from the team that builds it

When you email support, you reach a UK-based engineer who can ship a fix that same day. No offshore tier-one gatekeeping.

The migration path

How the move actually works

A Linnworks-to-MaxInvent migration is straightforward because both systems speak the same API dialects (eBay, Amazon SP-API, TikTok Shop). Here's the typical shape.

  1. 1

    Discovery call (45 minutes)

    Day 0

We review your current Linnworks setup — channels, warehouses, couriers, team size — and identify anything non-standard. You tell us what works, what doesn't, what's a must-keep.

  2. 2

    Data export from Linnworks

    Day 1–3

Linnworks exposes CSV export for products, customers, suppliers and open orders. We handle the mapping into MaxInvent's schema, including SKU/variant structures, stock levels and open-order state.

  3. 3

    Marketplace re-authentication

    Day 2–5

Each marketplace OAuth connection (eBay, Amazon, TikTok Shop, Temu, Groupon) is re-issued against MaxInvent. Your listings stay live on the marketplace — we connect to them, we don't re-create them.

  4. 4

    Parallel-run phase

    Day 3–10

For 5–7 days, MaxInvent runs alongside Linnworks in read-only mode. You verify orders, stock levels and dispatch match before any writes go to the marketplaces from MaxInvent.

  5. 5

    Go-live + Linnworks cancellation

    Day 10–14

Cut-over to MaxInvent as your source of truth. We'll help time the Linnworks cancellation so you're not paying for both. Courier accounts, Xero, B2B portal migrate the same week.

FAQ

Migration questions, answered

How long does a Linnworks migration really take?
+
For a typical multi-channel seller (3–5 marketplaces, 1–3 warehouses, 100–1,000 orders/day), 7–14 days end-to-end. Larger operations with bespoke Linnworks scripts or custom reports may run 3–4 weeks. We charge no implementation fee regardless of size.
Do I have to cancel Linnworks before I start with MaxInvent?
+
No — and we recommend against it. Run both in parallel for the first 5–7 days in read-only mode so you can verify everything before cut-over. Cancel Linnworks after MaxInvent is writing to marketplaces successfully.
Will my eBay, Amazon and TikTok Shop listings stay live?
+
Yes. We connect MaxInvent to your existing marketplace accounts via their APIs. Your listings don't move, they don't come down, they don't change IDs. MaxInvent just becomes the new system that reads and writes them.
What about my Linnworks courier accounts?
+
Bring them with you. Royal Mail, DPD, DHL, FedEx, Parcelforce, Evri — all BYO accounts plug into MaxInvent at zero mark-up. Plus you get Temu courier direct, which Linnworks doesn't offer.
Can MaxInvent handle high-volume UK multi-channel operations?
+
Yes. The architecture is built for high-volume UK multi-channel operations from the ground up — per-tenant isolated databases, horizontal scaling, auto-split across warehouses, and async marketplace sync. If you want us to walk through the architecture for your specific volume, we're happy to on the discovery call.
Does MaxInvent support custom workflows the way Linnworks does?
+
MaxInvent exposes webhooks, a full REST API, and built-in automations (auto-split, auto-enrich, auto-print, rule-based routing) as standard. We do not currently ship a custom scripting language. For most teams the built-in automations cover the use case; if you rely heavily on bespoke scripts today, we'll scope that specifically in the discovery call.
Is MaxInvent affiliated with Linnworks?
+
No. MaxInvent is an independent UK company with no affiliation, endorsement, partnership or licensing relationship with Linnworks or Linn Systems Limited. Linnworks is a registered trademark of Linn Systems Limited. We reference Linnworks here only for factual, non-misleading comparative purposes permitted under the UK Business Protection from Misleading Marketing Regulations 2008.
