Buyer evaluation criteria

Criteria for eBay seller operations

eBay uses several listing and order models, so connector coverage should be tested against the seller's existing listings.

Legacy listings missing from your current tool

Listings created in Seller Hub, Linnworks or older tools can live on the Trading API. If your platform only uses the REST Inventory API, some legacy listings may be missed.

Defects from late dispatch confirmations

eBay punishes late tracking uploads. If your current tool batches tracking uploads overnight, your defect rate creeps up.

Labels printed from five different tabs

Royal Mail in one tab, Evri in another, Amazon Shipping in a third. Each with its own rate card and its own order search.

Variant stock that doesn't match across marketplaces

eBay variations have different stock from the same physical SKU on Amazon or TikTok Shop — because your software treats each listing as a separate pool.

Per-user or per-listing fees

Some tools charge by active listing count or user. Compare current published pricing or a complete written quote against your own catalogue and team.

The MaxInvent fix

How MaxInvent solves it for eBay sellers

Both REST and Trading API listings

MaxInvent uses eBay's Trading API (GetMyeBaySelling) for supported active listings. Verify coverage against the seller's actual listing models, variants and policies.

Tracking upload after dispatch

Supported tracking data is submitted through the eBay connector after dispatch. Processing time, accepted fields and retries depend on eBay's API.

Implemented and assessed carrier workflows

Evri is implemented, Amazon Shipping is available where eligible, and other carriers are assessed and configured subject to account and API availability.

Single SKU across eBay, Amazon, TikTok, Temu

One internal SKU can map to each supported listing. Stock fan-out requires mapped, enabled connectors and remains API- and retry-dependent.

Per-order pricing, not per-listing

List 10,000 SKUs, list 100,000 — the price depends on how many orders you ship, not how big your catalogue is.

Pick and pack with barcode verification

Scan each item before it goes in the box. Catch picking errors before eBay penalises you for them.

How it runs

An example eBay workflow on MaxInvent

  1. 1

    Orders enter the dispatch queue

    API-dependent

New eBay orders land in the dispatch queue with buyer info, SKUs, shipping service and any buyer messages.

  2. 2

    Auto-allocate + auto-enrich

    API-dependent

Stock is reserved against the correct warehouse, missing fields flagged, and a courier is picked based on weight, postcode and rules.

  3. 3

    Pick, pack, scan

    Your SLA

Pickers scan each SKU at pack time. Variations are surfaced as separate SKUs so mismatches are easier to catch before dispatch.

  4. 4

    Label auto-prints on dispatch

    API-dependent

Use Evri, eligible Amazon Shipping or another assessed carrier workflow. Tracking updates follow the supported eBay flow.

  5. 5

    Connected stock updates

    API-dependent

Amazon, TikTok Shop, Temu and Groupon updates are coordinated through the same stock model to reduce oversell windows.

FAQ

Questions ebay sellers ask

Does MaxInvent support my legacy eBay listings built in Seller Hub or Linnworks?+

MaxInvent uses eBay's Trading API GetMyeBaySelling flow for supported active listings. Test the seller's actual legacy, business-policy, international and multi-variation listing models before onboarding; universal coverage is not claimed.

How does MaxInvent keep my eBay defect rate down?+

Supported tracking updates are sent through eBay's API after dispatch, barcode pick-and-pack can catch item mismatches, and connected stock updates reduce stale availability. API timing is not guaranteed.

Can I run Evri with another carrier?+

Evri is implemented. Another carrier can be assessed and configured where your account, required service and API access are available.

Do I have to pay per eBay listing?+

No. Pricing is flat per order shipped, not per SKU listed. You can list 100,000 products without increasing the plan cost.

Does MaxInvent claim a native Royal Mail workflow?+

No unconditional native Royal Mail claim is made. Royal Mail requirements should be assessed against your account, services and available API access during discovery.

How long does it take to migrate my eBay catalogue?+

Timing depends on listing and SKU quality, channel scope, data access, reconciliation and cut-over controls. Standard Starter and Growth onboarding is included; complex Scale or Enterprise migration is quoted after discovery.
